About

I’m Juno Halvorsen, an independent designer in Brooklyn. I design websites and apps for startups and small businesses. Two clients at a time, no more.

I grew up in Duluth, Minnesota, and started out in 2015 at a small studio in Minneapolis, designing websites for local businesses. In 2016 I moved to New York to join a fintech startup as one of its first designers. I spent five years there on the app, the website, and the design system behind both.

In 2021 I went freelance. Since then I’ve designed websites and apps for climate, health, finance, and consumer startups, and for a few small businesses, including a furniture workshop in the Hudson Valley.

I build the websites I design. On apps, I work directly with your engineers so the build matches what you signed off on.

You work with me.

No account managers and no handoffs to juniors. The person on the intro call is the person designing.

Designed to be built.

I build the websites myself. On apps, I stay with your engineers through the build instead of handing off files and leaving.

On weekends I ride my bike up the Hudson or throw pots at a ceramics studio in Gowanus.
